Still Feel the Burn After a Workout? Get a Massage!

Do you take pain medicine after a workout? Why? Researchers have found that, massage after a workout, may slow down the production of chemicals in the body linked to inflammation.

Their study of 11 men also showed that a post-workout rub-down helps increase the energy centers in muscle cells, according to a report in the journal Science Translational Medicine. While massage does not get rid of latic acid, a common cause of muscle pain found after a workout, it does help in further breaking it up within your muscles and drinking plenty of water after your massage will help in removing lactic acid from your body.

Instead of taking pain meds to reduce your post workout pain, how about you schedule a 30- or 60- minute massage with me.
